0001 Publish the method
Status
Section titled “Status”Accepted, 2026-10-31.
Context
Section titled “Context”The practice sells judgment, not code. The tools and books are already free and open source. Buyers cannot inspect the consulting method before they pay, which makes the first conversation do all the work.
Most consultants hide their method. That is a reasonable default when the method is the product. Here the product is the conversation and the recommendation. The checklist is not scarce. Trust is.
Decision
Section titled “Decision”Publish the diagnostic questions, the governance checklist, the hardware bill of materials, and the benchmark method in a public repository.
Keep client data, proposals, pricing, and pipeline private.
Consequences
Section titled “Consequences”- A buyer can test the thinking before booking. That should raise the quality of the first conversation.
- Competitors can copy the checklist. They cannot copy the local context, the lab, or the teaching record.
- The repository becomes a search-indexed asset that points to borck.consulting.
- The public material must stay sanitised. No client names, no raw notes, no pricing.
- The method will drift from the private practice unless it is updated when the practice changes.
